Flooring Installation Guide

Waste Factor Guidelines

Standard installations need 10% waste. Complex layouts, diagonal patterns, or herringbone require 15-20% waste factor.

Measuring L-Shaped Rooms

Divide L-shaped rooms into two rectangles. Measure each section separately and the calculator will combine them.

Box Coverage

Box coverage varies by product. Laminate typically covers 20-30 sq ft per box, while vinyl planks may cover 15-25 sq ft.

Installation Tips

Acclimate flooring to room temperature for 48 hours before installation. Start from the longest wall and work toward doorways.
